7 Tips to Minimize Your To-do List

7 Tips to Minimise Your To-do List

We’re all human and we all have a ton of things to do on a daily or weekly basis, it’s life and it’s adulthood.

It’s the sad part of growing up because you have ten times more to do and less time and energy to do it all. Sometimes we all need a little extra motivation or push to get it all done, or even tips to help us minimise all of the things we have to do so it doesn’t feel so overwhelming.

If you’re tired of having way too much to do and not enough time to do it, here are ten tips to minimise your to-do list and make life ten times easier to deal with.

Plan out your days. Grab yourself a planner and start planning literally everything you have to do for the next week. From filming or writing to cleaning in certain places to making things and going places, whatever it might be plan it out and the day you have it scheduled and also the time of the event/to-do item.

Clean during the day all day. This sounds worse than it actually is. What I’m saying is, clean while you use things, say you make a cup of coffee so put back the coffee where it goes put the sugar back and the milk and when you get finished with your cup rinse it and stick it in the dishwasher. The more you do this, the easier your cleaning routine will be which means less on your to-do list and more “you time.”

Accept your limits. You don’t have to do every little thing on your list right away or at all! It’s okay to cross things off sometimes without completing them. There’s only so many things you can do in one day or week. Honestly, give yourself a break and don’t push yourself. If it tries to go past your limit, accept it, cross it off, and forget about it. It’s not worth the stress honestly.

Focus only on what matters the most. The thing on your to-do list that means the most is the number one thing you should focus on the most. Anything else that is small or inconvenient it can wait until you finish the important things that are on your list. Plus, if you don’t finish everything on your list at least you can say you got the more important things on your list finished.

Try letting go. There are only 24 hours in a day and you can’t always make everyone happy all of the time. It can be hard because you might feel like you have to make everyone else happy but at the end of the day, you have to think of yourself too. The more you let go of, the shorter your to-do list will get and the easier your day and life will be.

Reflect. Look back and think, did the world end just because I didn’t finish doing that one little thing? No, so it’s not worth worrying about. Let it go and relax. If it didn’t end the world, then it’s okay that you didn’t finish those small tasks. It’s life and we all have our boundaries and limits and restrictions. Relax, and remind yourself that you tried the best you could and that is all that really matters!

Only make 3 tasks per day. This might be hard because you might have a ton of things to do but if you do this it’s going to shrink your list ten times and not only that but it’s going to take SO much stress off of you to look at a much smaller to-do list. So take off all the unnecessary stuff and only add in 3 tasks per day, that way you won’t have to stress about so many things at once.
